Contacting Us
Call (256) 222-2398 to reach us directly. We're based at 801 NE Church St, Decatur, AL 35601, and that's where a technician starts the day before heading out to a job. If you leave a message, tell us the make of your opener and whether the door moves at all - it saves time on the truck and on the call.
We work houses in Decatur proper and the surrounding area, including Trinity (6 miles out), Priceville (7 miles), Hartselle (10 miles), Somerville and Triana (both about 14 miles), Falkville (14 miles), and Moulton (18 miles). If you're outside that radius, ask - distance changes what we can do same-day versus next-day, and we'd rather tell you straight than guess on the phone.
We don't run a 24-hour dispatch line. If your call comes in after hours, you'll get a message back, not a truck at midnight. For a door that's stuck halfway up with a car trapped behind it, that matters, so say so when you call and we'll tell you honestly what the wait looks like.
What We Will Not Do
We won't quote a repair over the phone sight-unseen on a spring or cable job
Too many torsion setups from the 1980s and 90s stock around here use hardware that's been swapped out once already by a previous owner, and guessing the part before we see it just means a second trip.
We won't sell you a new opener when the old one just needs a logic board or a sensor realigned
If the door and track are sound, we say so, even when a full replacement would be the bigger ticket.
We won't touch a door that's structurally shot
Rotted jamb, a header that's pulled away from the framing - and call it a garage door repair. That's a carpentry problem first. We'll tell you that on-site rather than bolt new hardware to a wall that can't hold it.
We don't install or service commercial rolling steel doors or anything on a track system built for a warehouse bay
Residential sectional doors and openers are the work we do, and we'd rather send you elsewhere for the rest than take a job outside what we know.
Who You Are Dealing With
We're a residential garage door outfit working out of Decatur, AL. No call center, no national dispatch - the person who answers the phone knows the towns on the route sheet and roughly what's behind a given address before the truck leaves.
Most of the homes we go into were built between 1972 and 2012, with the bulk of that stock dating to the 1980s and 90s across the seven areas we cover. That matters more than it sounds: a door and opener from 1988 doesn't take the same part number as one from 2008, and knowing the difference before we open the truck saves a second trip.
The area runs a median household income around $67,863 across roughly 11,609 households, with about 8,352 of those owner-occupied houses - the kind of place where a broken spring on a Tuesday is a real problem, not a minor inconvenience, and we try to treat it that way.
The Work We Take On
Springs - torsion and extension, broken or just worn enough to make the opener strain. Openers, including the chain and belt-drive units common in this housing stock, plus sensor and remote troubleshooting. Cables, rollers, hinges, and track alignment on sectional doors.
We handle full door replacements too, especially on houses old enough that the original panel is dented, delaminating, or just doesn't insulate the way a newer one does. In a cold-moderate climate zone like this one, a worn weatherstrip or a warped panel shows up as a draft in the garage long before it shows up as a door that won't close right.
We do new installs on new construction and on homes swapping out a builder-grade door for something heavier. What we don't do is gate automation, fence work, or anything that isn't attached to the garage door system itself - if that's what you need, we'll say so instead of taking the job and figuring it out as we go.
